Route 430
Back in Wiltondale route 430 continues through Gros Morne National Park, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, in part because of its unique geology. The park is home to moose, caribou and arctic hare. Gros Morne is named for the mountain bearing that name, which in Creole French describes a big, rounded mountain standing alone. Within park boundaries are many visitor services, including campgrounds, picnic areas, hiking, boat tours and a recreation facility with an indoor swimming pool.
