Barr’d Harbour
Laws are meant to be broken! In the late 1800s a lobster factory, operated in this community by the French, went against a 1783 agreement which forbade the French from erecting any permanent buildings on the French Shore. It was the only French factory involved in the profitable lobster fishery on the coast.
