L’Anse aux Meadows
Come for the Vikings, stay for a feast. The story of the Vikings is told at the L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site. A model illustrates how the site may have looked at the time of the Norse; there are remains of the Norse buildings, and three full-scale replicas of sod huts. Norstead: A Viking Village and Port of Trade was created to place the experience in the hands of visitors. Pistolet Bay Provincial Park is located near L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site and features 30 camp sites and freshwater swimming.
