Cape St. George
Every year, Cape St. George proudly celebrates Une Longue Veille. The folk festival attracts traditional musicians, singers and dancers from all over the province, as well as visitors and performers from the Maritimes, Quebec and the French Islands of St. Pierre et Miquelon.
Back along Route 1 head to Barachois Pond Provincial Park, Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest provincial park. Situated at the base of the Long Range Mountains, the park has a variety of recreational facilities, and offers an interpretive program that includes guided hikes and campfire sing-a-longs. Check out the view from Erin Mountain, accessible by a 12-kilometre, marked trail within park boundaries.
