Route 406 & 407 Codroy Valley
The Codroy Valley International Wetlands, accessible via Routes 406 and 407, is the perfect place to watch and photograph rare birds in their natural habitat, as it is home to resident breeds in the summer and a stopover for migrating birds in spring and fall.
Travel along Route 407 to the Codroy Valley, a well known area in the province for its exceptional farming. Enjoy a game of golf at St. Andrews Na Creige Golf Course and take in the scenic back drop of the Long Range Mountains. After the game continue along Route 406 to Cape Anguille, the most westerly point in the province where the lighthouse that was built in 1905 still stands and the lightkeeper’s house now serves as a beautiful inn.
Route 406 will take you to the Grand Codroy Wildlife Museum and Art Gallery where you will have the opportunity to have your picture taken with Newfoundland’s largest mounted moose displayed in its natural surroundings along with hundreds of other species of animals, fish and birds.
