Picturesque St. George’s is believed to be the oldest settlement on the west coast, and is the site of the first official Mi’Kmaq cultural and historic museum. Nine of the province’s top salmon rivers are located in this area. The cairns atop Cairn Mountain are said to have been erected by explorer Captain James Cook. The annual Blueberry Festival held on Blueberry Hill is ripe with food, frivolity and fun for the entire family.
