3 Tips for Instagram Success

Updated: Dec 7, 2021

You’ve made an Instagram account, earned yourself a few followers, and started posting pictures. Now what?

Improve your engagement and lead new followers to your profile with these three tips.

Post consistently

If you want people to discover your business on Instagram, it’s important to have recent and consistent content. You don’t have to post every day, but try to set a realistic schedule for yourself. For example, post every Monday. If you are active on a Facebook page, you can link your Instagram so that your posts are automatically shared across both social networks. This will also give you the option to schedule Instagram and Facebook posts in advance.

Step up your captions

Wish you had more likes, or comments? Ask! Include a creative call-to-action in your captions. Here are some examples:

  • Double tap (like) if you love sunsets.

  • Who is your hiking buddy? Send this post to them, and start planning your next adventure!

  • Comment below your favourite item on our menu (or something you’re dying to try).

Use hashtags

The world of hashtags can feel overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be! Hashtags help new people discover your content. You can include hashtags in your post, or write them as a comment to keep the caption simple and clean.

Hashtags with millions of uses mean they are popular, but also that your post is more likely to be buried under thousands of other posts. Aim for a combination of popular and niche hashtags. To see how popular a hashtag is, head to the search bar on Instagram and type it in. You’ll see the number of uses below the hashtag. Below are some hashtags you may find useful.
